New Delhi: Renowned Indian cricket analyst Aakash Chopra is confident that the Mumbai Indians will be aggressive in the upcoming auction to bolster their bowling department. With a formidable batting line-up already in place, Chopra anticipates that Mumbai will target spinners like Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar to further enhance their bowling options. Interestingly, Chahal had made his IPL debut for Mumbai back in 2011 and spent three successful seasons with the franchise. Mumbai's focus seems clear - to strengthen their spin bowling arsenal for the upcoming season.

Aakash Chopra said, “Their batting has become strong once again. The problem is that they have only one bowler. They need more bowlers. Last time, their condition was like this because of bowling. They used to score 225 to 250 runs, but also used to give away the same number of runs.”

He further said, “They were too dependent on batting and scoring more than 20-40 runs every time was a bit too much. They can have a full Indian batting lineup and foreign bowling lineup, which can also include some Indian spinners, they will definitely go for Yuzvendra Chahal. I don’t know if they will take him or not. They will probably want to keep Washington Sundar.”

Mumbai Indians have retained five players Jasprit Bumrah (18 crores), Suryakumar Yadav (16.35 crores), Hardik Pandya (16.35 crores), Rohit Sharma (16.30 crores), Tilak Verma (8 crores).
