New Delhi: The Indian team has begun their training sessions in preparation for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is set to kick off on November 22 in Perth. After suffering a disappointing 0-3 series defeat to New Zealand at home, India is determined to turn things around. One of the main areas of concern for India leading up to the series is the inconsistent form of their batters. Star players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul have struggled to find their rhythm. As a result, the team will be looking towards the younger generation of players to step up and make valuable contributions. With high stakes and tough competition ahead, India is focused on regaining their winning ways and putting up a strong performance against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant will be crucial for India in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Pant played a key role in India’s previous series win in Australia and has been in excellent form, scoring a century, a 99, and two fifties in his last five Tests. Jaiswal, who has shown consistency in Test cricket, will face a significant challenge as the tour to Australia will be a true test of his abilities.

The two stalwarts of Indian cricket had an intense practice session at the WACA Stadium in Perth. As per the pitch curator, the wicket at the Perth Stadium will have pace and bounce and batting won’t be the easiest.

The series is crucial for India’s World Test Championship (WTC) final qualification. Although India were initially firm favorites, their 0-3 defeat to New Zealand has made their path to the final more difficult. To qualify directly, India must beat Australia 4-0. A 3-0, 3-1, or 4-1 result would require India to rely on England drawing at least one Test in New Zealand. If India win 2-0, they will need England to defeat New Zealand in at least one Test. A 3-2 series win would necessitate victories for England and Sri Lanka against New Zealand and Australia, respectively.
