New Delhi: Pakistan's explosive opening batter Fakhar Zaman sparked concern among fans as he injured his knee while trying to stop a boundary. The incident marred Pakistan's start to the prestigious tournament.
Fakhar Zaman Gives Injury Scare To Pakistan:
The event took place in the opening over of the match after Pakistan’s skipper Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and chose to field first. As anticipated, Pakistan’s star pacer Shaheen Afridi took the ball to start the bowling attack in this thrilling contest.
Afridi began with a dot ball, then bowled a full-length delivery, which Will Young drove powerfully through extra cover. As the ball sped toward the boundary, Fakhar sprinted from mid-off and managed to stop what looked like a certain four, saving a run for his team.
However, he injured his right knee during the effort and stayed off the field for a while. The team’s physio immediately attended to him before he got up and walked off. Kamran Ghulam, a top-order batter, came in as his replacement on the field.
