Liverpool legend and football pundit Carragher believes that Hojlund is finally starting to show his potential as a player after his £72m transfer to Old Trafford in August 2023.
Hojlund scored in United’s 3-3 Europa League draw against Porto this month, and then found the back of the net in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Brentford.
Those are the only two goals Hojlund has produced this term but he has only made six appearances so far amid a hamstring problem.
‘Hojlund, I think he’s starting to look a player,’ Carragher told . ‘I was really impressed with him in Porto a couple of weeks ago, he put a real shift in.
‘There’s real talent in the front three, but the man who gets the winning goal, I think he’s starting to look a player.’
Speaking more generally about United’s front three, Carragher added: ‘We talk about Marcus Rashford being better suited on the left, but he played on the right [against Brentford] and I think it’s one of his best games we’ve seen.

Dimitar Berbatov, meanwhile, has urged Hojlund to get ‘angry’ ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Fenerbahce.
‘I think as a striker he needs to be more demanding and arguing,’ Berbatov said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel.
‘Not being so nice and just pushing the buttons of some of the players around him.
‘Like give me the ball, asking for the ball, when the ball is not coming because I can see that he was doing some runs behind the defence and then nobody was seeing him.
‘That should make you angry, you have a point to be angry after this one.’
