A video circulating online appears to show Premier League referee David Coote sniffing a white powder, reportedly taken while he was on duty at Euro 2024.

Footage obtained by The Sun shows a man using a rolled up US bank note to snort the substance in an eight-second clip.

The report claims the video was taken on 6 July, a day after the Euro 2024 quarter-final game between Spain and Germany. Coote was part of the refereeing team that day as a support VAR official.

It also reported to have been filmed inside a Uefa-funded hotel room.

Coote was this week suspended from duty by the PGMOL pending a full investigation after a video emerged of him making derogatory comments about Liverpool and their former manager Jurgen Klopp.

In the video that went viral on Monday, Coote appeared to call Liverpool ‘s**t’ Klopp a ‘German c**t’ after a match in 2020.

A latest statement from the PGMOL said: ‘We aware of the allegations and are taking them very seriously.

‘David Coote remains suspended pending a full investigation. David’s welfare continues to be of utmost importance to us and we are committed to providing him with the ongoing necessary support he needs through this period.

‘We are not in a position to comment further at this stage.’
