Ivan Juric Faces Second Consecutive Defeat in Premier League as Crystal Palace Rally for 2-1 Victory over Southampton

New Saints boss Ivan Juric faces a tough challenge after suffering two consecutive defeats in his first two games. The task at hand is daunting as no team in Premier League history has managed to avoid relegation after securing only six points at the halfway stage of the season. The pressure is on for Juric to turn things around and keep Southampton in the top flight.

Southampton responded well to his pragmatic tweaks early on at Selhust Park, ending a run of four games in the league without a goal when Tyler Dibling opened the scoring after 14 minutes.

Crystal Palace equalised at a corner after 31 minutes through Trevoh Chalobah's header after surviving a VAR check, with Southampton feeling it should have been ruled out for a foul on Aaron Ramsdale by Jean-Phillipe Mateta.

Palace completed the turnaround in the second half when Eberechi Eze's sweetly struck shot took a deflection on its way through to beat Ramsdale and wrap up the victory, ending a three-game winless run in all competitions.

The visitors did not create enough to get back into the game and remain bottom, six points behind 19th-placed Ipswich, while Crystal Palace create a six-point cushion between themselves and the relegation zone.
